Current Gujarat Metro Rail Projects
As of my last knowledge update in September 2021, Gujarat has initiated metro rail projects in two major cities: Ahmedabad and Surat.
- Ahmedabad Metro: The Ahmedabad Metro Rail project aims to create a comprehensive metro network in the city, connecting key locations. Phase 1 includes two lines: the North-South Line (Green Line) and the East-West Line (Blue Line). These lines will not only enhance intra-city connectivity but also provide a seamless link to the Gandhinagar Metro, further expanding the reach.
- Surat Metro: The Surat Metro Rail project envisions a metro network that will cater to the growing transportation needs of Surat’s residents. The project comprises two metro corridors: the Orange Line and the Blue Line. Once completed, the metro will significantly improve connectivity and accessibility in the city.
