Sponsorship scheme 2024 started for destitute children

The government provides financial assistance of ₹ 4000 every month to such children for care and education. Under the Sponsorship Scheme 2024, children of widow pension holders of the state can also avail the benefits, but for this their age should not be more than 18 years.

- Children whose father or mother is suffering from any serious life-threatening disease will get the benefit of the scheme.

Income limit to avail the scheme
- To avail the benefits of this scheme, the income limit of the parents of the children has been fixed. The income of the parents of the children in rural areas should not exceed ₹72000 per annum.
- On the other hand, the income of the parents of the children in urban areas should not exceed ₹96000 per annum.
- Income certificate will not be required in case of death of both the parents.
